Full Moon Over Nashville

Wednesday, January 26, 2005

Well, It's true. It's a full moon. And that gives those of us who look for excuses and reasons good chance to find them. As in: I only do that on a full moon. Or I'll get around to it on the next full moon.

And the moon, glorious last night, is even more silently beautiful hanging through the mist of clouds on its way out again. The train whistles are strong and steady in the darkness. Trains and Moons. It's a good way to begin the day.

Somewhere out there as we all turn our sleepy heads in our beds Brad and Jennifer are trying to sort through their situation just like the rest of us. Waking up and wondering what to do next and what priority should hang its hat next to our bed. It's a full moon where they are, too. And one should suppose over the house of Angelina Jolie who may, or may not, have influenced the demise of a relationship. But, hey, we weren't there. We can only gather our information from the shaky sources of what we are spoon fed by the photos and words of the mass publicity machine. "Feed Us" we scream like the Plant in Little Shop of Horrors (You know his name!) And they do. And we eat it and then deny the consumption. I'm sorry that this picture perfect marriage of the golden people may be coming to an end. I really am. And everyone I know is sad about it also. And we all find that strange that we would even care. Tom Hanks and Rita, well that's understandable. But Brad and Jen? It's not like they had invested 20 years but we wanted them to. We really did. So, they quietly separated and asked that the press and public respect their privacy. Riiiiiight! We're right there. And for my own golden moment I was delighted that I wasn't them - or one of them. That my imperfect patchwork life wasn't put under a looking glass for all to see. Perhaps that's the price one pays for fame.

Or maybe, just maybe, we've lost our way like Alice in Wonderland. Maybe, we could be spending time picking up the pieces of someone else's life, or even our own, instead of reading about the pieces falling apart in someone else's.

It's just a thought.

THE WRITERS ROOM WORKSHOP

Monday, January 17, 2005

Be sure to check out my blog - indeed. Not much to check out since this professional writer has done such a poor job of blogging on a regular basis. In my defense, I'm out there writing, just not in here. As promised, I am posting information on the upcoming Writer's Room Workshop. It's going to be a great day and I hope all of those interested will have opportunity to attend.

In other news, I am dividing blog into 3 separate blogs, more topic specific instead of general ramblings. So for those of you who check in on regular basis, follow the upcoming links to new creations.
