My writing Mentor (such a wordy understatement for this talented, intelligent, gifted teacher) once told me good-bye by raising her coffee cup up to a group of playwrights that were hitting the road to seek out there fortune and fame and her advice was to be blessed in all our travels and travails and to have BIG Life.
my breath since winter passed through. Instead of me trying to tell you where I'd been I'd just pop a few snapshots up and say been here and here and here and did this and this and this - but the truth is when I look back, when I spread the photos out before me, it may have been busy but there's a whole lot of life going on here. Between road trips and family and music and stars and fireworks and late night porch talks in the middle of the night noises, it's been good.
Got to see my Momma and my Au

nt Kate and have them tell me stories as I sat at their feet. Got to see my favorite old o

ak tre
e and the one that was the inspiration for the mighty oak in 'Messenger'. Got to hang with my favorite Nancy at her house on
the beach and

talk, talk, talk like we do. Got to see a movie and just be my raw, unfiltered, laughing self with cousin Deb.
Got to kidnap my friend for Virginia for coffee in St. Andrews and then grab a burger at one of our favorite hole in the wall hideaways on the water. Got to lie on a blanket at night with Redbeard the husband and listen to the waves, watch the stars, sneak into a jacuzzi like teenagers on spring break- And more music, mo
re food, more stars, and more fireworks.
So maybe I haven't been Yoga posing enough, haven't written enough letters, haven't m
astered French, and I haven't started that next new novel under deadline, but summer is in full swing and the road has been rolling beneath my feet like thunder and I've been kissing the faces I love most in this world. And I am so thankful. And just like you and yours, my big life story continues.
Wishing you blessings in all your travels and travails. And safe journey.
