The Place To Hang Out On The Radio.
Creston Mapes on Backstory Saturday 8.9.08 Tuesday, August 5, 2008
Join us this week as suspense novelist, Creston Mapes joins us on the show to talk about his latest release and the writing life. You know, you never get enough time to spend with friends. Well, I don't anymore and I don't think most of us do. Life somehow became busy to the point of crazy. And so, every week when I go to the radio station to host Backstory and hang out for a few hours - I think, Hey, I'm too busy to fit this one more thing into my schedule. But then I get there. And I'm surrounded by the things that make me want to put my feet on the floor in the morning. First, I have the freedom to play some of the wildest and most eclectic mixes of music I've ever heard. And you just go there with me, listening to Ray Charles and Allman Brothers and George Jones and Coldplay and Frank Sinatra and world music, jazz, and the great, talented and yet to be discovered's. And I want to thank you for that and tell you - hey, thanks for hanging out. Thanks for the emails and notes about how much you've been enjoying the show, the authors, the excerpt readings of this and that, the odd poem here and there, and news and updates of what's happening in the world of story with conferences, festivals, and author appearences. Knowing you're out there, that I get to spend a few hours with a friend I can't always stop and chat with one-on-one just now, makes a world of difference to me.![]() Our drop in friend this week is suspense novelist, Creston Mapes. Worthy of any Grisham novel, this book was riveting from start to finish. Mapes is a rare find." -- Focus on Fiction -- "Mapes forges a powerful tale. 4 Stars - Top Pick!" -- Romantic Times Book Club -- So, it's not a one-way street. I'm on the air but so are you. Email me with a word or two (as I keep studio lines open for author interviews only). Send me your favorite new reads, quotes, songs, book festival news, and stories. I show up because I get to hang out with you doing what I love best - promoting the Passion of Story - in all its diverse, quirky, literary, and wonderful sides. See you Saturday on the air. 98.9fm Nashville, Comcast SAP Channel 10 Davidson County Tennessee, http://www.radiofreenashville.org/

"Mystical and magically written, Saints In Limbo, is a beautiful novel from start to finish. With vivid characters and lush language, readers will find themselves thinking of Augusta Trobaugh's Resting in the Bosom of the Lamb. Fans of River Jordan will be thrilled with this latest work."
